Bio:
Sam Borstein is a graduate student in the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s ecology and evolutionary biology program where he is a member of Darrin Hulsey’s lab. Sam’s main research interests include phylogenetics of cichlids, feeding kinematics, and evolutionary shifts to piscivory in fishes. Sam's research has taken him to Costa Rica three times where he has collected and researched the native cichlids. Sam is a master breeder in the GCCA and has spawned over 130 different species of cichlids, from new world to old world. He is a proud member of the GCCA and ACA.
